These graphite drawings offer a conceptual commentary of Black Sabbath's song “War Pigs.” In the first image, cloaked figures stand ominously in the background. These represent the often faceless powers behind war and destruction. In the front of the image, the pig is contorted in an expressive, almost human anguish. This symbolizes the literal and metaphorical “war pigs.” The second drawing is more surreal and to show the dehumanization and moral decay that “War Pigs” rails against. The drawings are an attempt to translate its heavy riffs and lyrics into a conceptual work.
